Therapeutical Class：1st generation cephalosporins, inhibit cell wall synthesis by inhibiting the final transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis

Indication：G(+) and some G(-) bacilli: E.coli, Proteus, Klebsiella.

Administraton：IV or IM:

Adults 0.5-1 g g6h, max 8 g/day.

Children: 50-100 mg/kg/day in 4 divided dose, max 4 g/day.

Renal impairment: Ccr >20 ml/min, 500 mg q6h;

Ccr 5-20 ml/min, 250 mg q6h;

Ccr <5 ml/min, 250 mg q12h.

Adverse Effect：Allergy (rash, etc.), diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, neutropeniaaplastic anemia, elevated BUN and creatinine, pseudomembranous colitis.
